Dispatch

Providing ambulance crews with the appropriate information at the appropriate time is one of the most important jobs in dispatch. In addition ,dispatchers also receive calls either from the telephone or 911 radio traffic, prioritizing calls based on the severity ensures prompt transport, and ensures the safety of the ambulance crews.

At WEMS we pride ourselves that over half of our dispatch time is handled by field EMT/ Paramedics who are also certified by the National Association of Emergency Medical Dispatchers.
