EMT's

 

 

Cassie

Cassie came to WEMS in April 2004 as an Dispatcher. She completed her EMT training at Dalton State College in May 2004.
Cassie is married and has three children.

 

Ernest

Ernest came to WEMS as an EMT in September 2002. Ernest has served as a Firefighter/First responder for Whitfield County since 1984. He was selected as First Responder of the Year for WEMS in 1997, which was the first year the award was in existence and is constantly on top of the ballots every year because of his dedication to the patients in his response area.
Ernie's philosophy of emergency medicine is to treat everyone with respect and kindness because people of all types get sick or injured.

 

Joe

Joe came to WEMS in May 2004 as an EMT. He completed his EMT training at Dalton State College in 2004.
Joe's philosophy of emergency medicine is saving lives and making a difference.

 

Randy

Randy came to WEMS in November 2003 as an EMT. Randy has serves as a Firefighter/First responder for Whitfield County and is employed as a career Firefighter with Whitfield County Fire Department.
 

 

Randy

Randy came to WEMS in February 2005 as an EMT. Randy began his fire career in Savannah in September 2001 and completed his EMT training in June 2002. He is currently cross trained as a dispatcher.
Randy is married with three children.
Randy's philosophy of emergency medical service is to treat his patients as he would his own family.

 

Wendy

Wendy came to WEMS as a dispatcher in June 2000. Wendy completed her EMT training at Dalton State College in August 2002.
Wendy is married and the mother of one child
Wendy's philosophy of emergency medicine is to always be able to provide the highest level of care and concern for all patients.

Andy

Andy came to WEMS in February 2005 after transferring from HMC Public Safety. Andy completed his EMT training in September 2003. Andy is also the Assistant Chief of Police of Cohutta and serves as a Volunteer Firefighter/EMT for the city.
Andy is married with one child.
Andy's philosophy of emergency medical services is to assist the residents of Whitfield county to the best of his ablitity with the skill and knowledge learned in everyday experience.

 

Kim

Kim came to WEMS in October 1999 as an EMT. Kim completed EMT training at Dalton State College in 1999.
Kim was named 2003 Employee of the Year.
Kim is married and has one child.
Kim's philosophy of emergency medicine is that everyday should be a learning experience and some days a teaching one.

 

Randy

Randy came to WEMS in March 2002 after completing his EMT training at Dalton State College.
Randy is married and has two children.
Randy's philosophy of emergency medicine is to treat your patients, co-workers, and the public with respect, courtesy, and compassion.

 

Mike

Mike came to WEMS in February 1986 as an EMT. Mike served in the Army from 1966 - 1968. He has a Bachelor of Science and Masters of Art in Industrial Technology. Mike also is a Georgia State Certified Firefighter working for Whitfield County Fire Department full-time.
In 2000 Mike was recognized for his dedication being named WEMS 2000 Employee of the Year.
Mike is married and has two children, two-step children, and two grandchildren.
Mike's philosophy of emergency medicine is to treat each and every patient fairly and earnestly, to be the best of you ability and training.

 

Todd

Todd came to WEMS in 1999 and worked as a dispatcher until he completed his EMT training at Dalton State College later that same year. He became a Nationally Registered and State Certified EMT and started working in the field on an ambulance.
Todd was named WEMS 2003 Employee of The Year. Todd received the Hamilton Hero Award for his efforts and contributions during the I-75 Fog Wreck in the neighboring Catoosa county on March 14,2002.
Todd is the father of 3 children.
Todd's philosophy of emergency medicine is to treat each patient as if they were the only one around.

Paramedics

 

Melissa

Melissa came to WEMS full-time as a Paramedic in July 2003 after working part-time for several years. Melissa completed her Paramedic training at Dalton State College in 1999.

 

Tony

Tony came to WEMS in October 1986 with an extensive background in EMS. Tony received his Paramedic training at Coosa Valley Vocational Tech in 1974 and spent several years at Gordon County EMS implementing medical protocols and serving as one of their supervisors.
Tony has received several awards from Region One EMS for his efforts in starting ACLS in Gordon County, putting I.V. and drug boxes on ambulances with protocols at Gordon County EMS.
Tony has been married and has 2 children and 4 grandchildren.
Tony's philosophy of emergency medicine is that you need to continuously build basic skills or added knowledge will not help. Treat all people the same and don't lose your compassion.

 

 

Barry

Barry came WEMS in June 2004 after working for other services for several years. Barry is part of the WEMS Honor Guard and the QA Committee.

 

Lee

Lee came to WEMS in June of 2000 as an EMT. Lee completed his Paramedic training at Dalton State College in August 2001.
Lee received the Hamilton Hero Award for his efforts and contributions during the I-75 Fog Wreck in the neighboring Catoosa county on March 14,2002.
Lee's philosophy of emergency medicine is that helping people is the most exciting and rewarding experiences of his life.

 

Nancy

Nancy came to WEMS in June of 2004 as an EMT. Nancy completed his EMT training at Dalton State College in August 2003.
Nancy
recently completed her Paramedic training at Dalton State College. Congratulations!

 

Ed

Ed came to WEMS in August 1999 after working at Hamilton Medical Center for over 15 years. Ed completed his EMT and Paramedic training at Dalton State College.
 

Stephanie

Stephanie came to WEMS in November 2000 as a Paramedic. Stephanie completed Paramedic training at Dalton State College in April 1999. Currently, Stephanie is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Dalton State College.
Stephanie's philosophy of emergency medicine is to help people in need of medical attention and to be there when people just need someone to talk to.

 

Holly

 

Paul

Paul has been in EMS since 2003, completing his paramedic studies at Chattanooga State in 2005. He came to WEMS in 2005 with the philosophy that compassionate and thorough treatment in the field is something everyone deserves. Paul is married and has three children.

Janell Chapman

Mrs. Chapman came to WEMS in August 2002 after working at Hamilton Medical Center for over 15 years in the Finance Office.
Mrs. Chapman's philosophy of emergency medical services is doing whatever it takes. She was named 2006 Employee of the Year.

 

Shawna Farmer

Mrs. Farmer came to WEMS in July 2002 after working for Hamilton Medical Center since 1998 in the Neurodiagnostic Center.Mrs. Farmer has three children and married recently.
